West Lancashire District Council aims to make services easier to access after improving its website.
The rents and benefits section of the website has been improved, which officials state will help residents to pay bills more easily.
Tenants can also take advantage of other new online services, such as ordering rent statements to stay up-to-date with payments, or requesting refunds if they have overpaid.
Councillor Adrian Owens, portfolio holder for e-government, said: "Housing is an area of our work that affects many people and so we want to make it as easy for our tenants as possible to find out about our services in the most convenient and least time-consuming way."
Mr Owens continues that the improvements to the website ensure that the council provides a "quick, cheap way of doing business with us 24 hours a day".
A range of help and advice is also available online for tenants who may have problems paying or find themselves falling into arrears.
