A museum and gallery website has been improved, in a bid to further promote black history in Birmingham.
The site, which was created by Birmingham Museums & Art Gallery (BMAG), will feature a new open source content management system, with the official launch taking place on October 1st 2006.
This will coincide with Birmingham Black History Month, Publictechnology.net reports.
Creators of the portal hope that the new format will better enable users to add their own content to the website, such as events, news, images and articles.
A new discussion forum will also be available, while adult learning resources are currently being created, which will be provided on the site.
"Birmingham's museums have the power to inspire learning and there are some exciting projects and resources that are at hand for anyone wanting to discover more about heritage or art," museum officials state.
"Activities are tailored to every type of need and many resources are now available online."
