Creating a website with high levels of accessibility is as vital as any other design feature, one analyst is claiming.
Darren Wood, writing in Practical eCommerce magazine, likens digital accessibility to a virtual wheelchair ramp - offering a wider range of individuals the ability to access content.
Additionally, Mr Wood advises that companies and agencies are available to provide accessibility service to organisations - if they are unsure how to proceed with these changes.
"Accessibility is best practice web development," he writes.
"Vision impairment, or any physical disability that prevents a person from using a mouse, should not be a barrier to your content."
Mads Kristensen, an expert at WebProNews, recently warned that failure to apply accessibility standards would lower the quality of an online product.
