The Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) has launched a new website aiming to help the development of school support staff.
Designed to help school leaders in their implementation of language, literacy and numeracy training, the new online guidance is part of the government's Skills for Life initiative.
Professionals can access various materials, including checklists and skills analyses, which are fully printable.
Jill Staley, director of the TDA's wider workforce programme, asserts that providing support staff with the resources and guidance they need in their own skills development will benefit the youngsters with whom they work.
"It [the website] will save school leaders time, money and effort by helping them to maximise the great range of training opportunities for support staff."
The TDA notes that 500,000 support workers are currently employed in the school system, with "increasingly varied and demanding roles" making the need for adequate skills training more pressing.
