Newmarket Open Door, which aims to provide support for homeless individuals, has launched a new website.

The portal was officially unveiled by the group's President and former Beirut hostage Terry Waite, who had lunch with some of the youngsters residing in the accommodation, reports the Cambridge Evening News.

John Durrant, Open Door's General Manager, said: "With the rise in the use of the Internet by all ages, but especially young people, our new website is an important method of communicating what we do and how the community can help."

Available on the new website will be information on supported housing and application forms for the use of homeless web users.

In additional, visitors to the site can find out how to obtain emergency food vouchers and the locations of cafes and restaurants where they can be redeemed.
