The Financial Times has bought online news company, Money-Media, who specialise in the fund manager market with the aim of increasing its market share.
This latest purchase from the Financial Times marks the organisation’s second digital acquisition in three months.
These online acquisitions have been key to the newspaper’s strategy of expanding and developing its core ft.com.
Money-Media owns a number of online news services that provide information and services for the US fund manager sector. Chief Executive of the FT, John Ridding, comments:
This acquisition supports and extends our strategy of building strong subscriber and digital businesses in core sectors. The growth of the fund management sector is being propelled by the globalisation of investments, diversification of asset classes and increasing focus on risk mitigation.
