Accessibility upgrades have played a major part in attracting more visitors to Fylde Borough Council's website, according to one official.
In the months since the site was upgraded, it has achieved higher numbers of visitors, culminating in a record-breaking 10,547 hits in January.
Services available on the site include bill payment and planning applications, while web users can also view meetings of council members.
Allan Oldfield, Fylde Borough Council’s Executive Manager for Corporate Policy and Performance, told 24dash.com: "We are able to add and improve features without any technical problems and the accessibility has improved."
He added that continuing work will be conducted to ensure the portal continues to develop and improve the "month-on-month" growth in users seen since its relaunch.
Councillor Paul Rigby, Cabinet Member for Finance and Efficiency, recently said that the body would be welcoming any suggestions or comments from web users which might further enhance the efficacy of the online offering.
