A new website will give Internet users the opportunity to have their say on the arts sector.
Launched by Arts Council England, the site's creators hope that members of the public will use the service to express a wide variety of opinions, including their perceptions of where public money should be issued and what makes art highly valued.
This will enable the body to offer better services by being "more in tune" with public demand, it claims.
Peter Hewitt, Chief Executive of Arts Council England, explains: "Opening up the debate in this way may create some entirely new possibilities ... we want many more people to have their say by logging on to the arts debate website."
Arts Council England states that its aim is to provide more art for individuals and promote British art - with £1.1 billion to be invested before 2008.
