Bristol City Council officials are hoping that a new website will help disabled individuals to plan trips and locate services across the area.

Additionally, the portal has been designed with accessibility in mind, featuring colours and fonts designed to be navigable for visually impaired users.

The council launched the project in coordination with a number of other local authorities, including South Gloucestershire, Bath and North East Somerset, and North Somerset.

Bristol Physical Access Chain, a disability equality group associated with Bristol City Council, also took part in the site's creation.

Algy Seymour, Chairperson of the body, commented: "The new website promises to be a well-designed and very accessible resource ... the details and advice found on the website at the moment are a great start."

The site's official launch is Thursday February 8th, with a press conference to be held at 10:00 GMT outside the Industrial Museum.
