The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has launched a new procurement and tendering website in a bid to create transparency and cut costs.
Heralded by the body as the first site of its type and "breaking new ground", the new online trading system offers tenders for all major ODA contracts, reports Design Week.
Internet-based procurement and tender sites are designed to reduce costs, by offering contractors the chance to place lower bids than their rivals for the materials and works.
The ODA also states that the new site will boost local businesses which may be seeking opportunities, while "ensuring as much transparency as possible".
Opportunities are available for the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, providing a "simple, secure and efficient means of managing the tender process", according to the ODA.
Businesses which register with the site will be able to receive update alerts, featuring opportunities and general information.
