The People and Dogs Society (PADS) is hoping to offer an improved service to dog owners with its new website.

A registered charity, PADS aims to offer support and advice to owners in order to keep their animals safe and healthy - and sees the Internet as an ideal solution to disseminate this information.

In addition to advice and membership details, the new site features competitions and enables web users to help out with volunteering and fundraising events.

The charity's honorary chairman, Debbie Weller, said that the previous portal was "frustrating" for visitors, due to slow load speeds and its "sprawling" design.

"We can only continue our work with the help of our supporters and volunteers ... we would be really pleased to hear from anyone willing to join them by joining the charity, making a donation or helping out at events," she added.
