The future of education will heavily involve the Internet and emerging technology, one government official has claimed.
Tim Byles, Chief Executive of Partnership for Schools, stated that innovative learning solutions will help to release the potential of youngsters around the world, reports eGov Monitor.
He commented in the wake of Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates' announcement that the corporation would be expanding its support for the Building Schools for the Future initiative, a £45 billion project of which a minimum of ten per cent is earmarked for technology.
"The innovative use of ICT is a necessary condition to deliver this and we very much welcome the commitment and engagement shown by Microsoft and the wider community of ICT providers," remarked Mr Byles.
Microsoft recently announced an initiative in Scotland, whereby it would work with the government to provide training in order to create better employment opportunities for young citizens.
