The London Borough of Croydon Council has pledged to maintain high levels of accessibility on its website.

Following recent upgrades to the service, Councillor Tim Pollard, Cabinet Member for Finance and Regeneration, said that the authority would work to "find new ways of making the council more accessible to all".

The Croydon website features a speech synthesis programme, uses descriptive text with all hyperlinks and enables web users to alter font sizes on the page.

Additionally, the council is inviting feedback from web users who wish to suggest further changes to the site.

Mr Pollard said: "The improvements we have made to the website should make it even faster and easier for people to access."

Other enhancements to the site include new satellite and street maps for residents to view, just under 100 additional forms, structural alterations designed to boost usability and a switch to more customer-focussed approach.
