Work Wise UK, which aims to promote "smarter" working practices, has launched the first Work Wise Week.
The week, which aims to raise awareness of the new possibilities in working from home and remote working through the use of Internet technology, will take place from May 16th to 22nd.
Additionally, this will include National Work from Home Day on May 18th.
Work Wise UK is a not-for-profit organisation with the goal of enabling 14 million Britons - half of the working population - to have access to these new working methods by 2011.
"In 2006, Work Wise Week, including National Work from Home Day, was a huge success, prompting over 85 television and radio interviews and upwards of 500 articles and news stories," comments the body.
It adds that media interest is expected to be higher in this year's event.
Earlier this year, Work Wise UK announced details of a concordat with a large number of industry bodies, including the Trades Union Congress, British Chambers of Commerce and the Confederation of British Industry to "help bring about a workplace revolution".
