A website must be built with the needs of the eventual user in mind if it is to be successful, a recruitment news provider has warned.

Discussing the potential of a good website as a business tool, online recruitment service onrec.com said that sites must have high levels of usability if they are to fulfil their purpose, as inexperienced web users may not be able to operate them otherwise.

"Websites need to blend strong design, ease of use, and sound structure to be effective for a business," stated the publication.

A good website can help to attract and build trust in users, foster brand identity and communicate directly with the consumers at whom the product is marketed, it added.

Earlier this year, Rachel Coleman, writing in the Practical eCommerce publication, urged organisations to seek regular feedback on the usability of their websites, as they must be fully accountable to web users in order to offer a high level of service.
