A UK official is set to learn ways in which technology can be employed to combat social exclusion from his Indian counterparts.
Pat McFadden, e-Government Minister, will travel to the country on a fact finding mission, while also trying to strengthen the UK's business ties.
Among his visits, he will travel to an eSava centre, which are institutions concerned with the delivery of IT solutions to all areas of the community, focusing on individuals suffering from poor levels of literacy and economic deprivation.
"This visit is very much about sharing the experience in both the UK and India of how technology can be used to improve service delivery and make life easier for citizens," said Mr McFadden.
In Britain, an initiative called UK online centres aims to provide Internet access to individuals such as elderly or socially excluded persons, or those who may not be able to afford to implement the technology at home.
