A new website could help to ensure that today's youngsters generate the necessary IT skills to tackle their future careers.
Part of the new Diploma in IT, a formal qualification available to 14 to 19-year olds, the site includes educational documents, information about the course and details of the various processes.
The diploma and website are the brainchild of e-skills UK, a non-profit government licensed body, which seeks to provide ICT skills for Britain's youth in a bid to provide solid career prospects and enable the UK to compete in the global marketplace.
Set to be available from September 2008, the qualification was developed in conjunction with employers and forms part of the Sector Skills Agreement for IT.
"It develops the knowledge, understanding and skills that young people need to be successful in tomorrow's world," e-skills UK said of the diploma.
In addition to undertaking this task, e-skills UK is the official Sector Skills Council for IT and Telecoms, working with the government, industry bodies and education authorities in the provision of this service.
