An expert in internationalisation from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is to speak at the SOFTEC conference taking place this weekend.
The two-day "extravaganza", which comprises events involving a wide range of attendees from IT professionals to school children, will take place in Lahore, Pakistan.
This year's theme is "breaking barriers".
Richard Ishida, Internationalisation Activity Lead at the W3C, has agreed to be the keynote speaker at the opening ceremony.
His work involves translation to non-Latin page scripts - including languages such as Bengali and Myanmar.
The Internationalisation Activity plays a key role in working to make websites which are written in non-Latin languages more accessible by creating standards to which designers can adhere.
"As W3C Internationalisation Activity Lead, Richard Ishida's job is to help ensure universal access to the web, regardless of language, script or culture," states the organisation.
SOFTEC 2007 will be the 11th instalment of the event, encompassing all of Asia.
