The Institute of IT Training (IITT) has redesigned its website in order to comply with World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards.

By conducting the work, the body claims that members and visitors will be able to access information relating to products and services more easily on the site.

The portal goes live today and represents a complete overhaul from its five-year-old predecessor, which "looked tired" and was difficult to use, according to IITT Chief Executive Colin Steed.

"As a standards body, we naturally made sure that the site complies to the accessibility and W3C standards that are now a requirement for all websites," he remarked.

However, Mr Steed also admitted that not all areas of the original site are currently available - a factor that may cause "some inconvenience" until it is addressed.

The IITT presents awards for industry bodies which demonstrate high levels of IT training professionalism, seeking to promote and further standards in the field.
