Experts are to discuss the potential of Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax) at a new workshop.
To be held on September 28th 2007 in the Bay Area of California, the Workshop on Mobile Ajax is co-sponsored by the World Wide Web Consortium and the OpenAjax Alliance and will discuss a broad range of topics.
Usability, browser and device support, and application development are all on the agenda, with experts attempting to ascertain whether mobile Ajax should be employed in mobile web browsers.
Additionally, those present will discuss the possible need for best practice and standardisation to be implemented.
W3C states: "The goals of this workshop are to explore user and industry use cases and challenges around mobile Ajax and to help shape ongoing work in making productive use of Ajax in mobile browsers."
Chairs of the workshop will be Jon Ferraiolo of IBM and the OpenAjax Alliance and Daniel Appelquist of Vodafone.
