A new noise website for local communities has been launched at Stansted airport.
The website will provide information about aircraft noise and for the first time give members of nearby communities the ability to make enquiries about noise levels or complaints online.
It will also incorporate a 'WebTrak' service, which will give the flight tracks of arriving and departing aircraft and display their height and location.
The site has been launched as part of a £1.8 million investment by BAA to upgrade its noise and track keeping systems.
Vicki Hughes, Stansted's Noise Communications Manager, said: "The launch of this new noise website is another positive development in the open way in which we work with local communities to share as much information as possible about Stansted's operations.
"This significant investment demonstrates how fully committed we are to providing the best possible service to members of the public about noise and aircraft track keeping," she added.
Ms Hughes also said that in coming weeks the service will be extended to cover further towns and villages east of Stansted so that "more communities have access to the best possible information".
