BT has improved the accessibility of one of its charitable websites, winning a major accreditation in the process.
The BT Community Connections award scheme allows community and voluntary groups to apply for a new PC and a monetary contribution towards a year's subscription to BT Total Broadband.
A recent revamp of the site to enhance accessibility to the World Wide Web Consortium's AAA standards has played a part in gaining the company a re-accreditation from the Business in the Community movement, which seeks to promote corporate social responsibility among companies.
"We are delighted to have been recognised again by Business in the Community which acknowledges the scheme has wide appeal, reaches so many different people and achieves digital inclusion for those who do not normally have access to IT equipment," commented Beth Courtier, Head of Charity Programmes for BT.
BT Community Connections has won the Big Tick accreditation from Business in the Community three times to date.
