Burnley Borough Council is set to officially launch its new website designed to help jobseekers.

The service, which is called Evolve, will be unveiled on June 20th at the Welfare to Work convention taking place in Birmingham, reports Publictechnology.net.

Creators of the portal hope that jobseekers will be able to use it as a one-stop-shop, with information from a number of job agencies and local education and training providers integrated on its pages.

Councillor Martin Smith, Executive Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, commented: "Evolve is not just a clever interactive website, it is a network of organisations committed to information sharing and partnership working for the benefit of people who need support, advice and guidance."

He added that in addition to the support for individuals it will provide, the local economy would be boosted by the number of individuals able to return to work.

Burnley Borough Council recently confirmed that local business support agency Burnley Enterprise has been installed as the main sponsor of the Burnley Business and Innovation Awards for 2007.
