Auto Trader the on and offline publishing magazine is to set up a range of web usability awards.

Created to drive usability best practice in the car industry, the basis of the awards will be Auto Traders annual website usability study which is conducted by eDigital Research.

Auto Trader new media director Craig Stevens said: "We are in a position where we can pass on the experience that we have gained from our ten years online”

He added “The biggest challenge facing the industry is that sites have been designed without any vision of what they have to do, people spend a lot of money on whizzy applications without knowing what the objective of the site is.”

The Auto Trader Website Usability Awards will take place on 4 September at the Savoy River Room in Central London.
