BT has announced its staff will be given the opportunity to learn more about how the company’s disabled customers and employees can get the best out of BT’s web presence.
With the aim of raising the awareness of accessibility issues for staff involved in web application design, a series of workshops will be held in the following months.
Workshops will be held in Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh, and the English Home Counties and are being run in conjunction with the European Union funded ENABLED project whose areas of research include improving web accessibility for visually impaired and blind users.
The workshops will consist of technology exhibitions such as screen reading software and screen magnification systems, guest speakers introducing the issues involved in accessibility, an overview of the work of the ENABLED project and the opportunity to pick up literature on training and additional resources.
