Moneyfacts.co.uk has launched a new green section on its website with an aim to provide information on ‘ethical’ mortgage products.

Launched in the belief that it is an opportunity for lenders to grab customers attention based on something other than rates and fees, the new section will include free access to the section and browsers will be able to look at the current green mortgage products on the market.

Lisa Taylor, press officer at Moneyfacts.co.uk, said: “There is no other platform that pulls together information like this. Eventually we want an industry standard in place to lay down criteria that defines exactly what a green mortgage is. We are confident that the new section shows companies that have a real green background and are not just trying to jump on the bandwagon. “

Moneyfacts.co.uk recently reported that being seen to be green is fashionable at the moment, but more needs to be done before it really makes a true impact.
