NetSuite has released a new version of its software that will work in Apple’s Safari browser and will therefore be compatible on the iPhone handset.

The capability, called SuitePhone, claims that Web 2.0 applications will work just as well as those written for the iPhone. These coupled with other NetSuite services usable through SuitePhone such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) means this technology it causing a stir both in the consumer and enterprise markets.

Apple has traditionally lacked the software applications required to address the needs of running a sophisticated business,

comments NetSuite chief executive Zach Nelson.

Our new SuitePhone capability addresses this need and makes the iPhone, in combination with NetSuite, one of the more useful and effective tools currently available to manage small- and medium-sized businesses.

Currently only available in the US, iPhone and this capability called SuitePhone is to be rolled out to UK customers within the next couple of months.
