Currys have set themselves a target of achieving 20% of its business online by 2010, driven by expanding its digital team.

Currently online sales account for 10% of the retailers sales. Giles Delafield, head of online development comments:

the strategy is to become the number one multi-channel electrical retailer, so we need a high performing team.

Looking at the short term, Currys is set to improve the functionality of its existing website whilst looking into the future, Delafield wants to be able to merge Curry’s online and offline channels more closely to enable customers to benefit from initiatives such as Reserve and Collect. This service allows customers to reserve their purchases online, collect from store and view their receipt online.
