Google Australia is to launch a new version of Google Maps which can be embedded into websites.
This new iteration of Google Maps is to be integrated by cutting and pasting a small section of HTML code into a website. This new development will not only allow businesses to have a Google Map on their website allowing users to see the location of their offices but will also provide driving directions too.
The embedded maps will have the same functionality as the current Google Maps such as a satellite view, map or hybrid view, which users can click and drag to move around.
Other benefits of the embedded maps include users being able to see the petrol prices at local service stations, mapplets can be combined together to provide photos of a desired location and businesses can enhance their branding opportunity by paying for their logo to show up on the embedded maps.
