Nokia’s new music and games download service was launched yesterday and presents healthy competition to Apple’s iPhone. It is part of the Ovi umbrella brand, opening up consumer access to Nokia’s online content in its entirety.
The Nokia handsets are designed as multimedia players enabling users to surf the web, play music and games and make calls and this will present competition to their handset resellers who also provide a similar download service already.
Chief Executive for Nokia, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo comments
Looking into the future, we will deliver great devices, combined with compelling experiences and services, to make it easy for people to unlock the potential of the Internet.

Market growth for such handsets is set to expand by 50% in 2007, Nokia predicts.
