Opodo have launched an online interactive map which they claim is a first in the European travel market. The map will allow users to view last-minute deals and carry out a booking.
Initially developed for flight searches, the EscapeMap is expecting to add package holidays, city breaks and hotels later this year.
The system has been launched to coincide with the expected late surge in holiday bookings towards the end of the summer period.
Opodo UK head of search, Chee Ho Wan, said:
Using EscapeMap for flights is a no-brainer. It’s perfect timing for us to launch at peak-holiday time as that’s when most people are looking to make last minute bookings.
