This week Vogue launches its entertainment and shopping website; ShopVogue.TV.
Replicating some offerings from the printed magazine, the new website will offer the products that readers can review in the magazine. The website will also show video content of fashion campaigns, runway shows and serial shows created by Vogue, such as makeover shows.
Keeping up with times, users will be encouraged to add to the user-generated component, by uploading photos of themselves in their own fashion looks in the ‘Fashion U Share’ zone.
Publisher of Vogue, Thomas Florio cited the success of US dramas such as Ugly Betty and The Devil Wears Prada and their similarities to Vogue, commenting:
America seems to be very interested in entertainment about fashion; the programs on ShopVogue.TV will give 'more of a non-fiction perspective’ on the fashion industry.
