Online web magazine, handbag.com, is re-launching its website with a streamlined offering and new advertising formats, in a bid to take its glossy magazine online.
Handbag.com is not the only magazine to be taking their proposition online, last month Ofcom released a report that outline results that have been hailed as the ‘feminisation of the Net’. The report identified that women between the ages of 25 and 49 in the UK are Europe’s largest online market and that they now spend more time online than men.
Ofcom believe that this trend has resulted due to more websites having content relevant to women. This trend is not set to just single women and career women, a report from the European Internet Advertising Association identified that 62% of mothers regularly access the Internet.
Handbag.com publisher, Alicen Stenner, comments:
We know that the three core interests are fashion, beauty, and celebrity; the new site will focus on these with periodic supplements on issues such as health and career.
