Next week Microsoft sets to unveil a new version of its search engine at a ‘Searchification’ event for journalists. Ahead of this, Microsoft has today released an updated version of its search engine homepage.

The updated page has a cleaner, fresher look that its predecessor, and has similar visual qualities to Google, whereby tabs for videos, images and so forth are situated above the search box.

In July, statistics identified that Microsoft had just 3.9% of the UK search market, compared with the 13% that they hold in the US. Driven by an aggressive advertising campaign, Microsoft estimate attracting a million new UK users to their search engine.
