A new survey shows online-only shops are seeing off competition from their high street counterparts.
According to the research amongst Lycos Shopping’s online community in July 2007, the “dotcom” brands are getting customer service, delivery and price right. The top of the best online customer satisfaction charts are all stores that do not have a high street presence. The exception being Tesco which polled as the best online grocer.
Hundreds of online shoppers were asked to rate their experiences (including delivery, quality of website, speed of delivery and customer service) across all the online retailers they had used, creating the most comprehensive survey of online customer satisfaction.
Other chart toppers included Amazon in the gadgets and entertainment retailers categories, beating amongst other Argos, HMV and Waterstones. lastminute.com and Expedia also polled ahead of Thomas Cook in the travel category.
