Mylivesearch, claiming to be the world’s first live search engine, launched in beta yesterday. It aims to deliver real time results, improving on the current major search engines.
Results from the major search engines suffer, according to the mylivesearch website, for three main reasons. Firstly because you can only see results from the last time sites were indexed. Secondly, you can only see a small part of the web. Thirdly, searches are limited by bias such as number of links and popularity.
The unique aspect of Mylivesearch is that it works by installing a browser plugin and then uses your computer's resources to search the web directly. It claims that this produces more 'real time' results, as well as searching a larger percentage of the web than Google or Yahoo!.
Though early days for this search engine, and while it contains some novel ideas, there are some concerns that it won’t really improve on the results Google is already providing.
