Former rap star MC Hammer has announced that he is to create a new website that will be dedicated to showcasing dance music videos.

MC Hammer, whose real name is Stanley Burrely is the co-founder officer of DanceJam.com and aims to upstage YouTube for sharing and watching dance videos. Hammer claims that it was TV shows such as ‘Dancing with the stars’ that inspired this new venture. Hammer and business partners have spent many months recently recording people dancing to launch the new website.

Post-launch the website is to run web-based dance competitions where contestants submit their videos that will be judged by online judges.

Hammer reached the height of his fame in the early 1990s with his song 'U Can't Touch This', and has since built a reputation for using cutting edge technology to advance his career.
