This week Microsoft has signed a deal with MTV Networks International and Sony BMG to publish content on Microsoft’s on-demand video channel MSN Video.
MTV shows such as Pimp My Ride, Punk'd and South Park and a selection of exclusive backstage footage from artists including Leona Lewis, Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
The current deal covers nine countries and clips will appear on MSN Video in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Sweden initially with Belgium, Denmark and Norway to follow.
John Mangelaars, VP of Microsoft's online services group, EMEA commented:
Online video has exploded in the last year and we're seeing growing competition for consumers' eyeballs as traditional and new players enter the game, our vision for MSN Europe is to provide what we coin the social portal, combining content that informs and entertains with social networking via Windows Live Services for our audience of 132 million.
