Lloyds TSB is the UK’s most popular individual online banking brand.  New research shows that in January 2.8 million customers used its service.

The research measured online banking activity for January 2008, including the number of customers and the number of visits per month.  Lloyds TSB was also the most frequently visited online banking service, averaging 6.8 visits per customer.

Royal Bank of Scotland had the largest aggregate number of online banking customers with 2.9 million.  This total was driven largely by the 2 million people who accessed NatWest’s online banking service.

The study shows that one out of three UK Internet users banked online in January 2008. 10.9 million customers logged onto at least one online banking account, representing 33 percent of the total UK online population.
