The Weather Channel Interactive has revamped its UK site, offering hourly and daily (10-day) forecasts. This latest change will detail local weather information for every UK postcode, alongside local travel, health and event forecasts.

Other features to the revamped site include a map room featuring an interactive radar and satellite map utilising Microsoft Virtual Earth, giving users the ability to look at their weather information down to street level.

The new website will contain new advertising formats for advertisers, including dual-mode geo-targeting (IP and page context), weather-triggering, and lifestyle sponsorships.

Director of weather.co.uk, Pascal Racheneur said:

Our users come to weather.co.uk because they are making a decision about something that really matters to them. It is our mission to create an environment of trust and credibility, and give our users all the information they need in the best format possible so that they can easily make the right decisions. This environment of trust is a perfect media vehicle to efficiently deliver an advertising message. It is a very exciting time for The Weather Channel in the UK, we are now able to provide the same high-quality content users have come to rely upon, wrapped around an exciting interface for both users and advertisers. This year, we are also planning the deployment of new web sites in key strategic markets of Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Rob Gay, Managing Director of eType, weather.co.uk's exclusive UK ad sales partner said:

The new weather.co.uk offers advertisers the opportunity to reach people in a trusted and familiar environment they use on a daily basis. By offering integrated advertising and sponsorship opportunities across a variety of sections within the site including Travel, Events and Climate, weather.co.uk will appeal to those advertisers looking for a more relevant placement.
