A new film portal is set to launch in UK this week and is said to be like YouTube, IMDB, Odeon, Lovefilm and TimeOut rolled into one.
Screenrush.co.uk, is operated by French media company The AlloCine Group. The website is in its beta phase and has already attracted over half a million users.
Users can get information for film cast and crew, official press and user generated reviews. The website will also allow people to view show times for every cinema in the UK and Ireland and book tickets.
In addition, users can communicate with like-minded people within the Screenrush community, share the site’s content with their friends on Facebook, or move content to their own blog or website.
A number of new partnerships currently under negotiation will soon allow Screenrush.co.uk to launch a TV database, including channel schedules, series and cast information.
Alexandra Ouzilleau, Managing Director, Screenrush.co.uk, commented: “Our goal with Screenrush.co.uk is to be one of the top five film sites in the UK by the end of the year - half a million users before the site has officially launched is a promising first step! With the added support of the cinema industry behind us, we hope to replicate the success we’ve had in France, where Allocine.fr is the number one cinema site with a 70% audience market share.”
