The Nomensa FTSE Report provides analysis of the standards of accessibility achieved by the FTSE 100 company web sites. In this report we are giving away some great insights into making web sites accessible. We hope that by doing this we can help commercial organisations understand the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (1995) legislation and indicate the steps needed to make compliant technology that is both accessible and usable.
The report includes a league table, providing an easy reference for understanding the issues that these sites face and offering straightforward explanations for each concept addressed.
Along with this report we are extending our services to include various aspects of accessible design that are all too often overlooked or omitted. These include re-engineering templates (without compromising existing corporate identity) and designing templates so they integrate seamlessly with existing content management systems. This has been in response to our clients' needs and the requirements that have arisen in numerous projects we have completed. We also provide a short intensive workshop to raise in-house knowledge and solutions for making accessible web technology now and sustaining it in the future.
