Focus Groups
Focus groups are an ideal way of collecting user insight in a timely and cost effective manner. Often we will use focus groups to complement the detailed insight delivered by user interviews. A typical focus group will involve between six and ten participants representative of your website audience. If your website has a diverse audience we can run several focus group sessions with each different audience group.
Focus groups can be used for a variety of purposes, but they are particularly effective for generating ideas and requirements. The group setting also helps ideas and suggestions to be refined and evolved by the group. The major advantage of focus groups is the speed with which large numbers of participants can be consulted in a short period of time.
You should consider focus groups if:
- You need to determine the requirements for a new project.
- You want to create or test new concepts and ideas.
- You have limited time to conduct user research.
