The course for me was not an opportunity to learn the guidelines word-for-word but more importantly to learn about the people and technologies that benefit from the guidelines. It's sometimes quite easy to forget that developing with accessibility in mind is far more than simply validating your markup and adding some alternate descriptions.

- Digital Detox.

This one day course will provide you with the skills and practical experience to create accessible content in conjunction with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). An extremely interactive and hands-on course, delegates will be led through a number of ‘how-to’ exercises on a purpose built website. Delegates will require some HTML knowledge for this course; some CSS knowledge will be an advantage.

  • An understanding of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines v1.0 and the skills to put them into practice;
  • An overview of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines v2.0;
  • How to create accessible content, including forms, lists and navigation;
  • Why accessible content is so important for assistive technologies.
