What you’ll be doing

You’ll be supporting the internal IT function of Nomensa, working with the Systems Administrator and Operations team to ensure the smooth running of our internal systems. As you gain experience within the team, you will develop the necessary skills to become the first point of contact for our clients, monitoring and maintaining our Jira service desk and tracking tickets to resolution.

With a passion for IT, technology, and new developments, you’ll manage our hardware asset tracking, working with suppliers and clients, to set up and configure systems and deploy new applications and software. You’ll also help to troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing then solving issues and preparing monthly reports to highlight any trends.

Nomensa’s ISO 27001 accreditation is really important for the business, so you’ll get to learn all about this Information Security standard and be involved in audits and checks etc. to support our compliance.

This is a varied role that will give you excellent practical experience. During the course of your apprenticeship, you will compete a Level 3 Information and Communications Technician qualification. Over an 18-month period, you will build a portfolio of evidence and complete various assignment. You will attend college once a week (either at the college campus or on Microsoft teams) and will be supported by an external assessor throughout the programme, This is a fantastic way to earn as you learn!

What we’re looking for from you

  • We are a busy and fast-paced business, so some previous experience in IT or technology would be helpful but is not essential as this role will provide the opportunity to learn.
  • If plenty of variety in your day and getting involved in all sorts of new experiences motivate you, and you’re keen to kickstart your career then please apply!
  • You’ll be great at organising, prioritising and multi-tasking even when everything is a priority! Problem solving is a real strength of yours, as are your communication skills and ability to get along and build effective relationships with a wide range of people whether they are technical or not.

This is a Bristol office role. Whilst our Bristol based roles are currently hybrid working (i.e. WFH and office based) we expect this role to be full-time office based in the future.
