UX Consultant - Graduate
As a world class strategic UX agency, Nomensa has been helping clients create innovative and inclusive digital experiences since 2001. Our services and designs place every human at the heart of every product, device, app and service we create. With Bristol, London and Amsterdam locations, and client wins across the commercial, charity, and government sectors we continue to grow and have a fantastic new Graduate UX Consultant opportunity at #TeamNomensa to support the delivery of high quality, engaging digital solutions.
What you’ll be doing
Working from our Bristol HQ, you’ll join a passionate, talented team of experts, who will support and mentor you to learn ‘on-the-job’ technical and soft skills. You will work across a full range of projects and industry sectors, and be involved in activities from interviewing, research, and research analysis to taking part in client workshops and design work. Variety, challenge and development are baked into the role. You’ll also get to collaborate closely with our equally passionate and talented designers, developers and of course, our much valued clients.
Don’t just take our word for it - Tom joined us as a graduate in 2017. Read his blog post ‘What I’ve learnt as a Psychology graduate working in UX design.’
Why you’ll love us
We aim to have a supportive environment where we are all inspired to do our best work, where we respect, collaborate and learn from each other. We have an amazing variety of projects and clients and there is always scope to develop your knowledge, skills and experience.
We’ve got a fantastic culture. We have achieved the Gold Standard Investors in People award (not easy!) and encourage everyone to be involved, to share their ideas and shape our business. We are inclusive and ultimately want you to be successful and happy, and to live our values – think bigger, be bold, be human.
What we’re looking for
There are many routes into UX so we are not fixed on a specific qualification. For example, you might be finishing your studies in psychology or just completed your further education in HCI, interaction design, user experience, service design, experience design. Perhaps you’ve done a relevant placement year in the design industry that has given you the drive to look for a career in this space. Any of these backgrounds are of interest to us - diversity is good!
As importantly as the what you’ve done is what motivates you and the how you do stuff. You will have a real enthusiasm and appetite to learn anything and everything UX. You are genuine curiosity about human behaviour and how this helps design better digital experiences. You thrive on collaborating and working with others. You are known for having great communication skills, enjoy deep diving on detail to explore what it reveals, and are creative with your problem-solving. You make a positive contribution to any team you are part of, and are equally comfortable working independently and taking accountability for your individual work.
