We have a vacancy for an experienced Content Designer to join our Bristol office on a permanent or freelance basis. We're looking for someone who's able to plan and write content in a user centred way for high profile projects.

What you'll be doing

Your work could reach millions of people and help design better public services, You'll be working closely with our user experience consultants, interaction designers and developers to plan and structure content in such a way that it is optimised for the web, accessible to users, and written in plain English, giving them the information they are searching for in a clear, concise manner that has been well thought out, minimising unnecessary duplication or complication.

In these projects, you'll be working with solid research to inform the way you design content, as you'll know the users you are designing it for, and what their needs are.

This is paramount to success in the role, it is so much more than a copywriting role because you'll need to really understand the research and analytics into the users, then plan and write digital content to suit the goals of the projects, all while adhering to GDS style guides.

What we are looking for

You'll be able to demonstrate experience of content strategy, designing content in a strategic and user-centred way. This could have been gained working for a digital agency or as part of a government digital department, for example.

With a flexible attitude you’ll also be able to turn your hand to designing and writing content in a variety of different sectors, for example government, not for profit, commercial, telco, and high growth tech.

We are looking for someone to ideally join us on a permanent basis in our Bristol office, however we will consider freelancers too. If the idea of working on important projects where your work could reach millions of people and help design better public services, then we’d love to hear from you.
