Salary: £22,000 | Location: Bristol
What you'll be doing
Working from our Bristol office, you’ll join our team of over 25 UX consultants and learn ‘on-the-job’ on a variety of different projects in a range of industry sectors including government, healthcare, energy, telecoms or charity. You’ll work on exciting projects for our clients alongside our highly experienced and well-regarded senior consultants, working closely with designers, developers and our clients.
A typical day could involve interviewing a client’s customers to understand their behaviours and motivations; running research with people with disabilities to help make a client’s website accessible for all; sifting through research findings to create a set of personas, coming up with ideas for a new IA, taking part in client workshops or working with our design team to sketch interface ideas for a new responsive site.
In addition to on-the-job training in our UX techniques, we run regular workshops and internal training to build your technical and soft skills and will assign an experienced mentor to provide advice and guidance.
What we’re looking for
As this is a graduate position, you’ll ideally have a real passion for a career in the UX field and you’ll need to be the type of person who gets a kick out of researching user behaviour and creatively problem-solving.
We know from experience of all the people we’ve hired over the years that there are many routes into UX. For example, you might be finishing your studies in psychology and wondering how you can apply this interest in the professional world. Well, at Nomensa we’ve hired many psychologists over the years, so you might just be among friends!
Equally, you might have just completed your further education in HCI, interaction design, user experience, service design, experience design, or perhaps even done a relevant placement year in the design industry, so you’ve decided this is exactly what you want your path to be.
Most of all, we’re looking for graduates with real passion and enthusiasm to learn. It’s our genuine curiosity about how people behave and desire to design better experiences that unites our UX team, so if you have great communication skills, are excited about getting stuck in with a motivated team and care about good design - get in touch.
