Bristol | £ Competitive

Nomensa is a strategic UX agency, known across Europe as being one of the first names in user centred design, with one of the largest, most talented teams of user experience professionals and technologists in Europe.

Since 2001, we have designed award-winning digital experiences that have reached millions of people.

With almost 100 staff, and three offices we're looking for someone to bring new processes and ways of working, and work closely with our senior leadership team. Nomensa is driven by continuous improvement and best practice so you can really put your own mark on this role.

What you’ll be doing

The bid team is by no means a new thing here, and your role as Head of Bid Management will be to manage the team, but also bring a layer of seniority and experience to the business that will benefit Nomensa.

You’ll help us to refine and analyse our processes, and continue to win work, which fortunately we’ve been doing consistently during the pandemic.

Your role as Head of Bid Management will be to manage the team, but also bring a layer of seniority and experience to the business that will benefit Nomensa. You’ll help us refine our processes, and continue to win work, which fortunately we’ve been doing consistently during the pandemic.

As well as being ‘hands-on’ with your own industry-leading quality bids, you’ll ensure the smooth running of the bid team, and that we are effectively collaborating across all departments. You’ll also need to be strategic, analysing and learning from what we're winning/what we're not and implementing new initiatives to create replicable success for the business including training.

You will also take on high level conversations with the senior leadership team, like how we package up and frame certain Nomensa offerings - to ensure we're meeting the changing needs of clients and winning against the competition.

Salesforce is fundamental to successful performance and forecasting within Nomensa. You will take ownership of its success within the business, working closely with the Commercial and Managing Directors to ensure that the account and business development teams use it in line with the expectations set out by the business.

You’ll be training new members of the delivery team in our sales process, and heavily influencing our approach to producing winning bids.

You’ll also be monitoring relevant frameworks, like G Cloud, and DOS, and ensuring we are always putting forward our best credentials at all times, as we do a lot of work in the government sector.

What we’re looking for

As this is a ‘Head of’ role at Nomensa, it's essential that you are analytical, strategic, commercial, able to think ahead and identify inefficiencies/risks, and be able to work collaboratively for the good of all, continually refining our processes.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate plenty of achievements and impact on organisational effectiveness in your previous roles in bid management.

You’ll need significant previous experience of managing bids, for example in the government, IT, design or professional services sectors. Line management experience is vital, as are good project management and organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to continually challenge the status quo and drive new processes during our growth.

Invariably our bids involve design, software development, research, user testing, accessibility and these can be very complex – working with and galvanising various talented practitioners and subject matter experts to produce a well-crafted and accurately budgeted response. You’ll need an ability to communicate well with all manner of different people, along with a great organisational and project management skills.
