What you'll be doing
Nomensa design, build and host websites for enterprise customers using a variety of different technologies, so there’s plenty to get involved with from day one. Day to day, your primary goal will be to support our internal IT infrastructure and provide effective 3rd line support. Your remit is to keep Nomensa at the forefront of technology and futureproof our tech infrastructure. We’ve also identified many exciting clean-slate projects where you can propose the best technologies to use. One of these will be to build a fully self-service IT platform for internal users.
Aside from that, you will be involved in the installation and maintenance of IT hardware, software, networks and communications systems as well as maintaining a secure, robust, agile and up to date infrastructure environment. You’ll also mentor a team of support engineers and provide guidance to ensure that internal support tickets are managed effectively, all while managing ongoing strategic projects relating to our systems.
What we need from you
In order to be considered for this, we’re hoping you’ll have experience in a similar role, as an Infrastructure Engineer or a Systems Administrator, and be able to work under your own initiative to find technical solutions for users of macOS and Windows. Experience of managing new software rollouts, including licensing, will be desirable. You’ll also have previous experience of managing or mentoring more junior members of the team. It’s likely you’ll also have knowledge of the likes of: MS Windows Server 2012/2016, MS Windows 10, Azure, macOS, Citrix XenServer or similar hypervisor, Fortinet or Cisco firewalls and switches, Avaya IP Office, Cyber Essentials or ISO27001, Spiceworks, Jira Service Desk. These are some of the systems we use. Equally, though, in this role you’ll have plenty of scope to introduce new technologies and ways of working!
Why you'll love us
We've got a fantastic culture at Nomensa and we are one of the few companies within the UK to achieve Gold Standard accreditation by Investors in People. It’s a fun and interesting place to work, where people forge real friendships and are encouraged to ‘be human’. Professionally, there is plenty of room for personal growth too, and lots of opportunities for you to develop your skills here over the long term. Aside from that, our 'Chief Happiness Officers' are always coming up with little surprises to add to your day, and organising social activities outside of work. Come and talk to us, and you’ll soon understand why it’s a great place to work!
